Wildfire Evacuation Alert Mistakenly Sent to All of Los Angeles County
After two days of contending with wildfires that have scorched thousands of acres, Los Angeles County residents received an erroneous wildfire evacuation alert on Thursday afternoon. Officials promptly clarified that the notification was solely meant for individuals near the Kenneth Fire in Woodland Hills.
Los Angeles County officials addressed the mix-up in a statement shared on X, stating, "An evacuation order for residents near the Kenneth Fire currently burning in West Hills was mistakenly issued Countywide." The message was specifically intended for residents of Calabasas and Agoura Hills. For further updates on wildfires and evacuation procedures, the County encouraged visits to its official website.

The ongoing series of wildfires around the Los Angeles area have resulted in at least six confirmed fatalities, according to officials, as reported by CNN. Los Angeles County, with a population nearing 10 million, is the most populous county in the United States.
"I have been informed the evacuation warning that many of us just received on our phones was mistakenly issued countywide due to a technical error," said Supervisor Janice Hahn, as quoted by CBS Los Angeles.
