Sony Launches Black PlayStation 5 Accessories for Preorder

Sony's Black Pulse Elite Wireless Headset

In conjunction with the recent CES event, Sony has unveiled a selection of black PlayStation 5 accessories, which are now open for preorder before they hit the shelves on February 20th. The new lineup features a variety of items, including the DualSense Edge controller priced at $199.99, the Pulse Elite headset at $149.99, the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds for $199.99, and the PlayStation Portal also priced at $199.99. These items can be preordered from Sony, Amazon, and several other retailers starting today.

The freshly unveiled accessories mirror the sleek design of the black DualSense controller released by Sony in 2021. The PlayStation Portal now comes enhanced with black buttons like those on the DualSense Edge, while maintaining the black highlights present on the white model. Additionally, the Pulse Explore earbuds are now accompanied by a jet-black charging case, whereas the Pulse Elite headset is packaged with a black charging hanger and a felt carrying pouch.

While these accessories boast new aesthetics, they do not come with any new features. The black PlayStation Portal continues to operate as the handheld remote player reviewed in 2023, offering the same battery longevity and operational limitations as the previous white model, with the exception that it now supports cloud streaming. Both the new Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite feature Sony’s low latency lossless wireless audio codec, making them compatible with the PS5, PS Portal, Windows PCs, and macOS. Meanwhile, the black DualSense Edge wireless gamepad retains its impressive customization capabilities and excellent software integration with the PS5.
