Samsung Expands Galaxy Ring Lineup with New Sizes and Broader Availability
Samsung is enhancing its Galaxy Ring by introducing two new sizes, 14 and 15, starting from January 22nd. This expansion aims to accommodate a broader audience, following prior speculation about the increased sizes. With this update, Samsung now offers ring sizes from five to 15, although availability in terms of size and color may differ depending on the market.
Comparison with Competitors
The introduction of larger sizes places Samsung's offerings closer to those of its competitor, Oura, which already provides rings in sizes ranging from four to 15. Although Samsung did not reveal specifics about the weight or battery life of these new sizes, current models with larger sizes, specifically 12 and 13, are equipped with larger batteries capable of lasting an additional day.
User Comfort and Considerations
The newly available sizes are particularly welcome news for individuals needing more room at the upper end of the size spectrum. As noted by industry expert Victoria Song, even if a ring fits initially, factors such as diet and environmental conditions can cause finger swelling, making it challenging to remove the ring.
Global Expansion
In addition to size expansion, Samsung will also roll out its smart ring in 16 new countries, including Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Greece, and South Africa, beginning February 7th. The launch date, however, may vary for each location.
