Casio Introduces Stylish Comfy JT-200T Calculator with Aesthetic Enhancements
In a move that marries functionality with design, Casio Japan has unveiled the new Comfy JT-200T solar-powered model, which cleverly shifts its solar panel to the top edge of the device. This subtle adjustment caters to those who value calculator aesthetics, ensuring the panel is out of sight during use.
The Comfy JT-200T will be available in five subdued hues: off white, dark gray, grayish pink, grayish green, and grayish blue. These colors have been selected to blend with a variety of desk setups. Customers in Japan can expect its release on January 30th, 2025, priced at ¥3,850, which is approximately $25.

This new solar panel positioning is slightly angled upwards and larger compared to Casio's previous design-centered models, potentially enhancing its exposure to indoor light. However, Casio has not indicated how this might impact its solar efficiency.
The JT-200T model is introduced in celebration of Casio's 60th anniversary of their initial calculator released in 1965. This model echoes the style of the Casio Mini from 1972, sharing the same key font as this vintage personal calculator.
The new calculator is eco-friendly, featuring a body made from a combination of recycled plastic and mica, designed to minimize scratch visibility. It incorporates a spring-loaded stand that elevates the device at an angle of about eight degrees and boasts a 12-digit segmented LCD display. While primarily a basic calculator, the inclusion of dedicated tax buttons could make it a practical choice for professionals such as accountants who require quick calculations.
