Apple Might Launch iPhone Air and Entry-Level iPad with Advanced Features
Rumors are intensifying that the anticipated ultra-thin iPhone, which has been the subject of much speculation for several months, will be branded as the iPhone Air. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who detailed the information in the Power On newsletter, the iPhone 17 lineup is expected to feature this new model, possibly named the iPhone 17 Air. This model is reportedly designed to be approximately 2 millimeters thinner than any previous iPhone.
“It will have a base-level A19 chip and a single-lens camera system," Gurman notes. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air is envisioned as a "testing ground for future technologies, including those that could pave the way for foldable devices." Furthermore, both the iPhone 17 Air and the upcoming new iPhone SE will reportedly debut using Apple's first in-house modem, enhancing connectivity and integration within Apple's ecosystem.
On the iPad front, there are expectations of enhancements to the entry-level model, which will make it compatible with the innovative Apple Intelligence. The next-generation iPad is rumored to feature the A17 Pro chip alongside 8 GB of memory, offering significant improvements over its predecessors. These updates are anticipated to be unveiled in spring, alongside the iPhone SE and a new version of the iPad Air, making it an exciting period for Apple enthusiasts, according to Gurman.
